July 4th on Lake Martin

July 4th.  4th of July Parade at Blue Creek

The annual  parade begins at 11 am.  The parade starts on Olana Drive at the north end of Ponder Camp Road in Dadeville and ends at Niffer's.  You can park anywhere along Ponder Camp Road to grab some candy and trinkets thrown by parade entrants.  To join the parade, arrive at Olana Drive at 10am.  For more information contact Mickey Forbus at 334.329.0905.

July 4th.  4th of July Boat Parade

Russell Marine's Boat Parade celebrates 40 years! A really fun event that grows and grows each year.  Boats are decorated from stern to bow and some are always over the top.  Dress up, decorate your boat and join in the fun.  Boats start from Kowaliga and parade to Children's Harbor.  Two prized are awarded in the following categories: Tallest Flag, Largest Flag, Most creative Heme and Most Patriotic Crew.  First prize is $150 Russell Marine gift certificate and second prize is $75 gift certificate.  NEW this year is a prize for $500 in cash for Best Overall Boat and Crew.  If not participating you can be a spectator on the shores at 10:00am.  For details and sign up info call Kowaliga Marina at 334.857.2111 or stop by the marina to register.

July 4th.  Fireworks and AMP Concert

It is a tradition at Lake Martin.  Celebrate the 4th with spectacular fireworks and an awesome concert.  The Grains of Sand Band starts at 8pm.  The Southeast's largest fireworks show begins at 9pm.  After the fireworks show the band will start playing again.  Gates open at 5pm.  Bring chairs, coolers and lots of family and friends.  For more info visit russelllandsonlakemartin.com

July 6-7th.  Arti Gras

This annual, two day, juried art show is held on the Town Green at Russell Crossroads.  Tons of artist from all over the south.  All mediums of art.  You will see handmade jewelry, sculptures, paintings, pottery and much more.  Mark your calendars.  Friday 12pm - 8:30pm and 10am - 4pm on Saturday.

Artist interested in participating as a vendor should contact Tyler Mitchell at tmitchell@russellands.com by June 21.  Be prepared to submit photos of art with your application.

July 7th.  Community Garden Club Pancake Breakfast

Support the Community Garden Club by stopping by the Artist Cabin for hot pancakes right off the griddle and coffee or juice.  Cost per breakfast is $5.  Please bring cash.  For more info visit russelllandsonlakemartin.com

June 2018 at Lake Martin

So much happening at the lake and in the surrounding communities during June.  Make your plans for the entire family to participate in the many, many activities and events that will take place during the 6th annual SunFestival in Alexander City.  Sun Fest kicks off the month starting with events on June 1 and runs all week, wrapping up this year with the Annual Jazz Fest.  Lots of fun in the sun!  Jump in.  These are three major events for June.  And below are several events that take place every week.

June 1 through 9 Alexander City will come alive with event after event the entire week.  So much fun.  Thanks to the Alexander City Chamber for such an amazing event every year.  This year is sure to the biggest ever.  Too many events to list so we uploaded the entire schedule below.  Take a look.  There is something for everyone!  Have Fun in the Sun!

Jazz fest

The 28th Annual Alex City Jazz Fest presented by Russell Lands On Lake Martin is set for Friday, June 8th and Saturday, June 9th.

Friday night's show in downtown Alex City's Strand Park features Birmingham's New Devils, New Orleans staple Jon Cleary and American rock-n-roll band Hollis Brown!

Saturday's show at The AMP on Lake Martin welcomes the Yonrico Scott Band, jazz guitarists Roman Street and Alabama's own Taylor Hicks!

One of the best art shows on Lake Martin.  The Lil' Calyspo has grown and grown over the years.  The host Chuck's Marina does a fantastic job. 

Come out and see Canvas Art, Folk Art, Handcrafted Furniture, Pottery, Handcrafted Jewelry, Metal Art & Signs, Glass Art and more.

Oh and of course plan to have the famous Chuck's Pizza on the deck. 

Dan Adams from Austin TX will be playing on the deck from 1 - 4pm.
